About Me
Based in Taunton, Andrea first qualified as a massage therapist at Raworth International College of Natural, Nutrition and Sports Therapies in Surrey 20 years ago.
For over two decades, she operated both in her private clinic and in larger organisations, such as working in the physiotherapy department in The Nuffield Health Hospital in Taunton, where she was given physio referrals, together with consultant recommendations to aid patients post-operatively, for example following hip and knee replacements. She has also worked with a wide range of other medical conditions, including motor neuron disease, arthritis, stroke, sciatica, headaches and sinus conditions.
Following her husband’s stroke 4 years ago, she embarked on developing her skills further at the ARNI (Action for Rehabilitation from Neurological Injury) Institute with Dr. Tom Balchin. This training has enabled her to treat and train stroke patients after leaving hospital and having left the EDT (early discharge team), when there is often the greatest of need for helping patients.
To further support many of her patients, Andrea studied advance nutrition level 4 with obesity and diabetes training. This has been really helpful in supporting patients not only with mobility issues, where weight related problems can occur over time, but also to help promote a healthier life style during rehabilitation using S.M.A.R.T goals and dietary advice.
Andrea is highly respected in her area of expertise and has an excellent track record in helping her patients to heal and in supporting their conditional needs. Her approach is to encourage patients and clients alike to find lifestyle changes that help their recovery journey. Where beneficial, she is able to devise exercise programs or give a series of remedial massage treatments, including strengthening and stretching techniques to enhance and accelerate a patient’s healing process.
Furthermore, Andrea has recently upgraded her clinic and has put new procedures in place to adhere to all government guidelines regarding safe practices with Covid-19. Her refurbished clinic is now up and running and she looks forward to welcoming existing and new patients once again.
